Govt to put a check on cow deaths in Kochar area
- Jaipur: State government has finally decided to take appropriate measures for putting a check on the death of cows in Kochar area bordering Dausa, Karauli and Swai Madhopur. Two medical teams have been constituted that are monitoring the situation while supply of fodder and water has been intensified.
- After reports of several cows dying of hunger, Gopalan department had constituted a committee that visited Kochar last week.
- According to the officials a high level team has been set up that is overseeing all the arrangements. “Animal husbandry department pressed two medical teams into action which are treating cows on the spot. Along with a mobile unit is deployed to take care of other medical needs,” said Shailesh Sharma, director, Gopalan department.
- For steady water supply, three new tube wells were dug out with the help of local community, the officials claim. Supply of fodder has also been increased and new 90 tanks have been spread all over the area which is regularly filled from tankers.”
- “It was observed that deaths were due to lack of water and food. From amount sanctioned of Rs 60 lakh by state, we have spent Rs 10 lakh in ensuring that there is no lack of food for cows” said an official.
