Gaushalas yet to get free power, water supply

Even as the Punjab government has announced to provide free power and water supply to Gaushalas all across the state, the announcement is yet to materialise on ground if sources in the animal husbandry department are to be believed.The department had submitted the power bills and other related documents to the state government and it is awaiting the government’s response.Following a meeting with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and CMD, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, Kimti Bhagat, Chairman, Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, on September 8 had made an announcement that the state government was contemplating to provide free power and water supply to around 470 cow shelters all across the state.
