Pashupati Gaushala preserves the cows with ‘adopt a cow model’

When Indians from foreign countries return to India, the first thing that they feel embarrassed about is cows sitting on the roads. But not Deepak Shrivastava. He lives in the USA and pays Rs. 2000 per month to a Gaushala at Noida to adopt a cow whom he affectionately calls ‘Arna’.The cow suffers from medical condition, due to which she is not able to conceive and also does not give milk. Her owner brought her to the Pashupati Gaushala, as he was not able to bear the cow’s maintenance cost.

The gaushala arranges for good quality fodder and accommodation for her. Mahesh, who runs the Pashupati Gaushala at Basai Village near Sector-70 has a total of twenty one cows.
Contrary to the many gaushalas in the city, which rear the cows for the milk, this gaushala runs mostly through donations.
The staff had rescued many cows from the roads. Sometimes, the cattle owners themselves drop these aged and diseased cows, male calfs and adult bulls, as they are of no economic objective. Read More…
