Tawadkar visits gaushala, assures NGO of support

nister of animal husbandry and veterinary services Ramesh Tawadkar visited a gaushala (cow shelter) owned by NGO Dhyan Foundation at Quepem where over ahundred injured stray cattle are being treated and nurtured.

Swati Shilker, a volunteer at the NGO informed that they have rescued over 150 injured stray cattle since February when the gaushala was started. Margao resident Gautam Naik said Dhyan Foundation’s cow sanctuary is the only shelter for injured stray cows in this region

There are three-legged, blind and old animals that are being taken care of at the sanctuary. Once the cattle become healthy they are shifted to the Cuncolim animal shelter also owned by the Dhyan foundation. Read More…
